House Football: A Lawrenceville Tradition

Since its introduction in the 1860s, the game of football has been an important tradition at the Lawrenceville School. As one of the sport’s earliest adopters, Lawrenceville has witnessed its evolution and played a minor role in its transformation. While varsity and junior varsity football hold a significant place in School history, the development of the inter-House football league is of particular note because it is so unique to Lawrenceville.
